Akwa Ibom launches first state owned commercial Airline in Nigeria

The Ibom Air which happens to be the first commercial state owned Airline in Nigeria has finally been launched and begins operation today..

This was announced by the chief press secretary to the state governor, Mr. Ekerete Udoh who stated that the Ibom Air has satisfied all necessary requirements and conditions and have been fully approved to begin operations today June 7th..

In his statement, he said

“It will maintain regular daily flights to both Lagos (MMA2) and Abuja respectively.

“The aircrafts in its fleet (Bombardier CRJ 900) have the distinction of being relatively new, all three, under 10 years old,” Mr Udoh said.

Since the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom state governor, His Excellency, Mr. Emmanuel Udom in May 29th 2015, the state governor has changed the face of Akwa Ibom following the awesome footsteps of his predecessor, Godswill Akpabio. On several events, the state governor has been given several awards and certificate of acknowledgement. As it stands, the Akwa Ibom state still holds a top medal as one of the best states in the country
